New font of Star Gold in use since February 2020

This month the Indian Hindi movie channel Star Gold changed its look after 8 years, and along with the new graphics package comes a new font. Now it would be one thing if the channel simply used Futura PT Bold (as seen in the logo wordmark), which is fairly universal, but the truth is anything but. This font is nothing like what I have seen before, and the closest match (via Identifont) is Now by Hanken Type. Unfortunately it is not the same. The double-storeyed lowercase ‘g’ seems to throw font identification software off the track.

All images are screenshots of YouTube videos showing the new graphics package. I have attached a large number, because the more the merrier in this case.

I will really appreciate it if you can tell me if Star Gold is indeed using a commercial font here, or if this is a custom font, in which case it will of course be a pity that the font will not be used outside of the channel.

For comparison: the new logos, which do not use the new font:

Very similar to Gotham and Montserrat, but not a full-on match to either.

According to this article, it is a custom version of Now.

As a matter of fact I’d written that line on Logopedia myself! However it is only an assumption, and the fonts are by no means the same. Notice the words ‘appears to be’ there.

The font does have a lot of Gotham, Proxima Nova and Gilroy in it, while the lowercase, especially that single-storeyed ‘a’ and double-storeyed ‘g’, is reminiscent of Tarzana.
