Riccardo’s post got me started. If it wasn't by Emigre (like Template Gothic), it definitely had a David Carson/late 80s/early 90s vibe.

Being old enough to remember that era, I vaguely remembered something named amoeba or maybe amorphous, so I searched on names starting with “amo” on Fontsinuse.com.

Jens Gehlhaar, who was behind Radar Design, has gone on to design other typefaces (and a number of award winning commercials) since then.
