The type specimens of the world in one database …

Houston, TX Office building signage from 1947-1948 I am trying to identify this font so additional signs can be made for the building. It's Art Deco in style and the number 8 is unusual.

Judging by the age and the difference between the |O|s in “MOTOR” and in “ROOM”, I’d say it’s lettering, not a typeface.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find anything that come close to its quirks.

Is this the City National Bank Building, designed by Alfred C. Finn?

I agree with Riccardo—what you posted appears to be custom lettering, not a typeface (also not finding anything close in a digital font).

Your best bet for creating new signs is to photograph every existing piece of the building's signage in this style you can find, and to have a designer recreate an alphabet and numeral set in vector format (Adobe Illustrator).
