A designer (maybe Matthew Smith, author of the blog where I found it: https://dribbble.com/shots/4211351-Type-Thursday-NYC) created this monogram.

I'm crazy about fonts which lines go thinner and thicker.

Can you help me to identify this gorgeous font, or any similar?

No fonts involved here, only beautiful lettering.

As for modern calligraphic typefaces, you can probably start with Ogg and look for similar ones.
