Font used on the cover of Harold Bloom's "Genius"

You’ve probably seen it as Nicolas Cochin. Not sure which version this is though. None I found have that damaged-looking diagonal stroke in the N.

Other letters look a bit wonky too (|M|, for example). It seems more like an outline of some poor quality original set in Nicolas Cochin, rather than a text set using a font.

Thanks also for the tip regarding what appears to be outlined or otherwise doctored type treatment
