Font purchasing habits (discussion)

I was trying to fill it out, but the choices don’t always make sense.

Imagine a workhorse typeface family. It is your go-to typeface for a variety of typographic uses. Qualities: it has excellent legibility at various sizes, is useful in a number of environments, contains many weights, italics, obliques, small caps, language support, and OpenType features. What would you pay for this complete family? (in USD)

That depends entirely on the project and its budget! I am forced to enter a number here, but it makes little sense.

What is the discount percent that would cause you to buy a font that you like but do not need? 90% • 75% • 50% • 30% • Any discount at all • Discounts don’t motivate me to buy fonts.

That depends on the perceived value for the specific font in relation to the discount price, NOT on a certain discount percentage. I can’t give a proper answer to this question.

And also the net resulting cost.

In general, I found the choice of questions, their grouping, and the possible answers a bit baffling at times.

But, hey, maybe it will make sense in aggregate form. :winking:
