    Yella Dog Press

Yella Dog Press, in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a letterpress printing shop where things are done the old-fashioned way. The shop is run by Kate Anderson Askew. She uses two Chandler & Price flywheel presses, a sign press and 16 cabinets of wood and metal type that she shares with two other independent printers. Everything from Yella Dog Press is set by hand and printed by hand.

    Type tips in Rotterdam?

Antiquariats: nope, Amsterdam... Maybe interesting (all in walking distance): https://www.kunsthal.nl/en/home/plan-your-visit/exhibitions/dark-side-dick-bruna/ https://www.showroommama.nl/nl/ http://www.dutchpinballmuseum.com Latest hotspot for food and drinks: Deliplein ( https://www.uitagendarotterdam.nl/locaties/d/deliplein/ )
  7. Nowadays the opposite would be most probable. While the shape of the letter is similar, it lacks the stroke modulation (thick/thin).
  8. Grand Hotel has been suggested as a typeface similar to the lettering used. Stephen
  9. Thanks for the replies. We were doubtful whether it was a typeface or not especially as it appears just on the dust wrapper. But we thought there might be a typeface that lay behind the lettering that acted as inspiration. Stephen
  10. @Ignacio is absolutely correct about it being lettering. That was just the way many things were done during those years, and as he said, there are numerous small differences.
  11. Gotham Book for REAL STATE and Knockout Nº 26 Junior Flyweight for RE, both from Hoefler&Co.
  12. Watching it closely and knowing the year I would say it’s a nice piece of Lettering, not a typeface/font. Besides the two different “l” I think I can see very small differences between the same letters… would be better to know with a bigger sample. Ronde Script and Typo Upright are kind of similar in style but not so condensed.
  13. Yes! Of course .... it seemed so familiar to me. Thanks very much!

  15. It looks like these are two different fonts. A particular difference in the "R". Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Thank you Riccardo! I spent several hours searching through fonts on two laptops simultaneously and never came close to anything that looked like this. Grazie mille!
  17. Looking for the same or similar commercial font as from the headstock of this guitar. Calligraphic in style with the top bar of the T curving in from the left.

    Multiple Sans & Slab

“As its name suggests, Multiple is a family with multiple font styles. The idea that sums up the concept behind the typeface is a workhorse—the challenge was to develop a useful font fit for any scenario and suitable to any design needs: editorial design, packaging, branding, screen use, etc.“ A “pay what you want” 90 fonts typeface family.
  19. Eskent if you go to this website DaFont there are literally 1,000's of legit free fonts you can choose and download. There are hundreds of script typefaces to choose from here: https://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=601 I'm sure you will find something close to what you are looking for.

    Type tips in Rotterdam?

We’re heading for Rotterdam this weekend. I’m looking for interesting places to visit, besides the touristic scenes. Any antiquariats, shops with a proper graphic design book collection or other places for a letter and type aficianado to go bananas? Thanks Andy
  21. I need the typeface (if one) as used on the dust wrapper of the first edition of AA's "The Big Book" published in 1954. Thanks, Stephen
  22. Maybe Apple’s San Francisco? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_(sans-serif_typeface) Similar and freely available: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto

I need help identifying this party t-shirt font

WE need the link to the source to better identify the typeface – the link provides much more samples in your case. That’s why posting the source is required in our rules you have read and accepted. I added the link for others in this forum to check out.
  24. I need this font, not the link to the tshirt. I dont want the shirt. Thank you.

    Flexible Typesetting by Tim Brown

Because of the web, the role of the typographer has changed. We no longer decide; we suggest. In this book, available July 24, Tim Brown illuminates the complex, beautiful world of typesetting—arguably the most important part of typography, as it forms the backbone of the reading experience—and shows us how to parry the inevitable pressures that arise when we can no longer predict how, and where, our text will be read.
