  3. Hello, I'm reading the biography (just published) of famous writer Hugo Claus — but I can't help to wonder about the typeface used 😉 It has this peculiar italic closed g — as in ITC Galliard by Carter — but it's a different type of serif… many thanks in advance ! — benjamin

  6. More similar: Rocka & Billy Regular Philly Sport Script
  7. Sorry, but I can find no evidence that the samples you posted were created with commercial typefaces—they both appear to be custom lettering/custom logotypes. I've searched on the words as a whole, and on individual letters, and did not find matches. And while they are similar (especially the r|s), the two logotypes are not the same lettering. Campana does have a very similar vibe. For something a bit more angular/formal, try Buinton Script.
  8. Hi I'm looking for the font or a close match for the "Bitter" and "Warriors" text in the below attachments. The original beer coaster logo is from DB Bitter, a NZ beer company and the jersey is from the NZ Warriors new heritage range paying homage to the 90s era. I'm wanting to make a sign using the same or similar font. Closest i can find so far is Campana script: https://www.dafont.com/campana-script.font The font is OK but the W and B look very different. Any help is appreciated. https://www.warriors.kiwi/news/2024/02/12/rolling-back-the-years/

I removed those links. Those are commercial fonts and their use needs to be properly licensed.
  11. I used to think that this font was custom until I seen it on this book as well! Does anyone know the name of this font? Bone thugs Joker book
  12. Only finding similar: UT Nickel, Millie
  13. All I can identify is the word CUT—that is set in Profil, and I initially thought the rest was just the inner portion (no shadow) of the same typeface, vertically compressed, but it is not quite a match. Sadly, it may be too distorted to trace back to a phototypesetting font. You are probably correct when you say it may not have survived into the digital age.

  15. The Netherlands band Golden Earring released an album in 1982 named Cut. On original print runs of the album, the band logo used what appears to be a slab serif font that has a little bit of a 'western' feel to it and on the Netherlands print, they actually printed gold foil for the band name and album title. One thing I noticed is that the capital E in Earring is thinner than the smallcaps E in Golden and the capital G in Golden is thinner than the smallcaps G in Earring. The logo on the album is italicized, however, using Photoshop, I have slanted it backwards to try and help locate it and have attached the font still italicized as well as the complete album cover. MyFonts can't identify it and I'm guessing that this font has never been digitized, as even subsequent print runs of the album in the digital age use more generic, readily-available fonts for the band logo. Even if this font has never been digitized, I'd still be interested in knowing if there are any typography books it could be found in as this has become a 'white whale' for me over the years. Thank you in advance for any help, it's greatly appreciated.

  18. I am looking for the font for the part of the sign that says The Day. I would love to make a sign for my church's nursery area using this font. The Chic-Fil-A manager doesn't remember where the sign was bought, but felt certain it was probably from some local store or boutique, and there was no manufacturer identification anywhere on the sign (they let me take it down and look on the back of it) I would love to know where I can download the font from, but would be thrilled if I could just find the font name, or even a free alternative that looks very very similar. Thank you so much for any help you can provide.

Fender Guitars Decal Fonts Late 60s - 70s

You are right. "News Gothic" is exactly what I need. Thanks Les, you are the best! To sum up for anyone who stumbles upon this post, here are correct fonts for this logo: 1) For "STRATOCASTER" Univers Condensed Bold 700 [Link removed by admin] 2) For "WITH SYNCHRONIZED TREMOLO" [Link removed by admin] (although has to be a little bit extruded to make it slightly taller to match)

Or possibly some form of 'Trade Gothic' or 'News Gothic', both Akzidenz derivitives

My best guess would be some form of Akzidenz Grotesk. This being 1968 is pre-digital after all!

I just found perfect one for "STRATOCASTER". This is Univers as suggested by Les above. Thank you Les! This is the font: [Link removed by admin] Univers Condensed Bold 700 I put in my artwork and it is absolutely perfect Still looking for the font for “WITH SYNCHRONISED TREMOLO”

Thank for response. When it comes to “STRATOCASTER” parts Univers condesed bold actually looks very close. There are few minor details that are wrong but I think I can fix that manually in digital artwork. For example, “O” in original image has flat sides, but Univers condensed is a little bit curved. But this is something I already could work with. But I am still looking for the “WITH SYNCHRONISED TREMOLO” part font
  24. Hi everyone, I am currently looking for a few fonts as seen below. These fonts are typically from for-free font sites such as dafont or 1001fonts. I am open to them being from any source. These fonts were used on the USA network this year within the past two months. The first says, "WREN SINCLAIR" - note the font has a gold stroke added to it that is not a part of the font. The second says "NO QUARTER CATCH CREW" and the third says, "SAQUON". Thank you!

Think you might find something pretty close in the 'Univers' family (also called 'Zurich' by Bitstream).
  26. Hello, I am currently in the process of making digital artwork for 1968 Fender Stratocaster guitar headstock decal that I want to print for restoration of my guitar. While many details on this decal had to be done manually and there was no problem replicating it (although very time consuming), some text should be added using existing font. However, I am struggling to find exactly what I need. I attached image of the original headstock decal that I am working on. I need fonts for "STRATOCASTER" and "WITH SYNCHRONIZED TREMOLO" parts. Currently, I am looking for "STRATOCASTER" font and the best I could find is this: https://www.dafont.com/bebas-neue.font?text=STRATOCASTER&back=theme But this is not close enough. So you uderstand importance of detail for me - this one is a bit taller than it should be, shape of "\" in "R" is a bit different, spacing between ends in "C" is too small etc. I decided that I need help and I hope somebody knows the answer. If font is paid, that is no problem for me as long as it looks like on picture. Also, my English may not be the best, but I think my message is clear enough. Thanks in advance
