Looking for this Mercury motor decal font

I doubt you will find an exact digital match. It was a style very popular among car makers and sci-fi movie posters alike (the most influential original design being perhaps China), but I think this particular variation is a proprietary typeface based on the original logo.
  3. You could approximate “SE” with Ghost Clan.
  4. Hi all, I'm trying to determine which font was used for the lettering on this Mercury outboard motor decal. The boat was made in the late 90's. If it was just the word "Mercury" I might think it was customized text, but the line below it is the same style ("Electronic Fuel Injection"). It has similarities to Eurostile, Hemi Head, Dodger and Otomo. None are quite right though. I'm including a clearer picture of a reproduction decal made for a different boat from the same era. I've tried cropping it and using it for the online font identifiers with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

“CHIPS” and “LENTILLES” are set in Chalkboard The Best. “TOMATE”, etc. are set in lowercase Castor One. “Fabriqué en FRANCE” is set in Congenial.

    Remembering Freda Sack

“Freda Sack was a type designer and typographer who took an important lead in shaping the professional craft of type design and, through her work with the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD), helped to improve standards and to enhance educational opportunities in the field of typography.”
  8. Hello, I am looking for the fonts that this packet of chips. The words concerned are: - natur & bon - Chips de lentilles - Basilic - Fabriqué en France Thanks for your help
  9. (Artificially slanted) Handel Gothic for pretty much everything except the city names and the first “INC.”, which is set in some version of Serpentine. download at MyFonts As for “SE”, I suspect it is custom, possibly starting with Handel Gothic and using a |L| to construct the |E| (or some versions of Handel Gothic could already have such alternate |E|).
  10. Looking for the font used on Scelzi Enterprises and the SE Inc.

Fractional sizes for font and leading?

I’ll agree here. Good design includes using appropriate type at appropriate sizes, with appropriate line spacing, column width, etc. And by “appropriate” I mean of course for readability by your intended audience/readership. No one (except nerds like us) notices the grid behind your layout. I confess, I often tend to choose traditional metal-type sizes to start with (I also go back that far), but fine-tuning usually takes me away from that old habit. I’ll confess again, discovering type that has been set at 9.675 point, for example, makes me cringe, but if that’s what works, there’s no rational reason to say no.

    Looking for Helvetica advertisements

Here’s how the Haas type foundry announced their Neue Haas Grotesk in Gebrauchsgraphik in June 1958 (image courtesy of IAADB), one year before the typeface was renamed to Helvetica. In retrospect, the defensive wording is amusing: “Grotesks continue to occupy an important position”, “please compare it to other, similar grotesks.” Note the prophetic Latin phrase, which translates to “Whatever you do, do it wisely and consider the end” (quidquid is missing a d).

    Antonio Basoli

The article argues that they “should be built for real”. I’m not sure about that, but I can easily see them in some film or television opening titles.

This young guy did some beautiful creative typography. What a lovely talent. For me he was an unknown who died far too early. https://blog.8faces.com/post/136876631916/aronjancso1986-2015

Why the US Government Just Made Its Own Font

Looks like Pablo Impallari may have been directly involved in its production, but maybe his name was only mentioned in the font metadata as a "designer" because of how it was based off of Libre Franklin.
  23. Hello- I am looking for this font on a sorority t-shirt made by the social life. I was able to do a reverse image search and found a source here: https://thesociallife.com/products/alpha-phi-beverly-tee They use this font on several other products, including this raglan crew: https://thesociallife.com/products/alpha-phi-boulevard-raglan-crewneck It looks like a brush/script/hand lettered hybrid. I have exhausted all research sources, have asked university design professors, work colleagues, and I CANNOT find this font. I need a digital version to create a greek life design for a similar product. I was able to find a page on The Social Life where they list some of their favorite fonts but I couldn't find it there (of course), and it looks like they find/use most of their fonts from a mixture of dafont/creative market. Here's the page: https://custom.thesociallife.com/pages/fonts
  24. Thank you very much for your response. I will definitely look into customizing the typeface myself for a similar style.
  25. I’m pretty confident it is a custom logo, not a typeface, given that all the samples spell only the same word, and that it appears to be similar in style to the Overwatch logo, which in turn is based on Bank Gothic. download at MyFonts Depending on the features you are looking for, you could find multiple variations on the style on the expansive “techno” section of sites like dafont.co. Or, if you are after something with a similar “vibe” rather than specific shapes, you could look at the gothic>modern section, perhaps something like Duplexide.
