    Hot metal typesetting refers to machine-based typesetting technologies, where molten type metal is injected into a mold that has the shape of one or more glyphs. Examples of such machines are the Linotype and the Monotype.

     

    Dutch: machinezetten
    French: composition chaude
    German: Maschinensatz
    Italian: composizione (meccanica) a caldo
    Spanish: Composición en caliente
