Sweet Charity Font

Featured Replies

Hello,

I need some help identifying the font used for the 2005 Broadway revival of the musical Sweet Charity.

Thank you in advance for your help.

What is the origin of your sample? It looks like lettering, not a typeface, to me.

Or, at most, a generic sans serif typeface modified to resemble the lettering of the poster for the show.

It seems to be a typeface because it is used all over the credits page above each credit and at the bottom of the page, separate from the poster, but I assume it could also be a custom typeface?

The poster for the production was designed by Gail Anderson (and lettered by Anthony Bloch). It also uses the same typography at the very bottom of the poster. Bloch also designs typefaces, so I suspect this one might be custom for this production.

Many people have asked about it on the WhatTheFont forum, with no answer.
