William Display and William Text (Typotheke) are mighty close

For “Bob Willis”, I think that Albra (Text) Light is an even better match.

It appears to be some cut of Caslon (as per Gizzmo’s suggestions), but the best match I can find would be an artificially emboldened Big Caslon.

Second best, not counting the |a|, possibly New Caslon.

Yes the |a| is very distinctive. As you say it looks very much like an emboldened Big Caslon. I'll keep looking to see if there is a particular cut at this weight.

Caslon 540 (again, with a stroke added) might work for the subtitle as well.

I think the font is Big Caslon and has been emboldened artificially. See this example:
