I suspect it's an Italian(?) wood cut typeface, though I haven't been able to ID it from any catalogs I have access to. If it has been stretched, there is a possible non stretched source in the titling, attached below. Link to comment

I think it could be a typeface specifically designed for film, thus outside the usual foundry market. Link to comment
