Sample is way too small but my guess would be Galliard

Galliard? No. Try Adobe Garamond Pro which is a much closer match.

Looking at better samples, I second Galliard.

I found a hi-res copy of the book on Google Books and after a close comparison I now agree it is indeed Galliard. The two faces are very close in design.
