I've been spotting this typeface or at least this 'style' of type a lot in a few album artworks and promo material. I have a body of work which it could potentially work well for, but can't seem to put my finger on the typeface.

I have found one alternative typeface, but it doesn't seem to carry the same visual impact.

Need help finding this typeface or even alternatives which are similar?

When was that album made?

A well-known available font in that style is Compacta.

While not an exact match, you can get fairly close with Padaloma Italic and cheating a bit in Photoshop (the ball of the question mark was handled differently than the curl, for example).

On second thought, I'd say it's Republica Minor Bold Italic.
