Hi,

I am trying to recreate an advertising poster from the fifty's and I am looking for a font that comes close to the font in the screenshot I attached.

Looks like the designer created his own font so it is probably not an existing font.

But I would be happy to find a font that looks similar and has the same look and feel.

I would be very thankful if someone could help me out.

Take a close look at the repeating letters in Managing Director... — they aren’t exact matches to one another. As you have already determined, that line is likely custom-lettered, and either photo-engraved or carved out of wood as a single piece of reusable art.

Hoboken Serial has a similar vibe.

 

For the “rough look”, I was thinking of Pabst Oldstyle.

I'm going for te Hoboken.

For me it really has the same look and feel.

Seeing that the original is a custom created font, this one really comes close.
