Looking to identify the type used on this cover of The ABCs of the Internet (1996)

Hi,

I'm looking to identify the type used on this cover of The ABCs of the Internet (1996). Specifically, the purple type that says "The Internet".

I've tried using font identification online and I've had no luck. Palomar (2012) by Jonahfonts seems like it was influenced by this mystery type, but that's all the leads I have.

FYI - the entire cover is the same font. Fun fact: it was super popular when it first came out and was used extensively by McDonald's – so much so that for many it's hard to disassociate from this usage. There's even a blog about it. https://bodegasansboulevard.tumblr.com
