Looking to identify font from the illustration plates in Les phénomènes de la physique Date: 1868

That type appears to be hand lettered / hand engraved, not typeset, which was typical for illustration plates of that era. Standard block lettering style for engraving.

 

For something with a similar Q, try Kaiser.
