Serge
Hi, I am trying to identify a font on a swedish headstone erected 1940 (the font used may be older). I have tried to find the original font these last two days but am stumped as there is always some detail that is different. I am starting to believe the stonemason may have mixed elements from different fonts, but I wish to get your opinion before I try to recreate it. The text of the headstone does not contain all the letters of the alphabet but I hope the appended image may be useful. Kindly yours, Serge Link to comment
Kevin Thompson
Sorry, not finding a match. Type on gravestones/stonecarving doesn’t always correspond to type used for printing (as explained in this article), especially prior to the advent of phototypesetting (1950s). Link to comment
