Looking to identify the typewriter font used in the facsimile of George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four"

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm trying to identify the cursive font used on this page. This page comes from the Harcourt Brace Jorvanovich, Publishers & M & S Press release of the Facsimile of George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four, Published in Italy, Copyright 1984. From my own attempts to identify the font, I first believed it was a Olympia Script Font (SM8 or SM9), however letters such as the capital P (at times anyway) and lowercase e do not match the font used on this page, so I am at a loss. Ideally I would like to find a digital version of the font if at all possible, but a nice looking alternative is acceptable as well.

I also found another digital version called AX-28 Script, but annoyingly the original source is not cited. I have a rougher version of the same face called Louis Medium in my font collection, which I got from the same site, but it is no longer listed in their catalog.

The designer for both is listed as Ludi Loiseau, one of the founders of Open Source Publishing.

EDIT: I didn’t dig far enough into the posted images on the site (see below)—the source of the lettering appears to be a Brother AX 28 typewriter from the 1980s.
