Hello, I am new here. For this request. I give links to early example of the New Zealand Nurse Registration Medal (Image 1, Image 2). It was made by Henry Jenkins & Sons Ltd in Birmingham, England from 1902 until the early 1920s. The medal is made from bronze and various colours of enamel and gilt. The designer was Mrs Grace Neill (Assistant Inspector of Hospitals in New Zealand from 1895). No official records of the design from the time survive.

I am trying to identify the typeface used in the bar ('N Z R N') and if this was a common typeface of the day, if it has been digitised what the font is called, for a social history project on nursing. Image 1 provides an example of the bar with some of the enamel missing, allowing for a clearer view of the letters (click on the image when the page loads and it will show a bigger version). Various other examples of the same badge are online at the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

Thank you to the volunteers for your help.
