I'd like to use the font shown in a graphic for a Snowboarding Team.

I purchased this image specifically for the checkered "mis-registered" section to use as a background.
I ended up liking the wording style. There is no font named, and the text is converted to outlines.

I do not need the warped smiley face, so I removed it from the uploaded jpg.

I'd love to know the exact typeface name.
A free alternative would be appreciated.
This style looks really familiar to me. If anyone know what company or band that was the inspiration for this design, please feel free to share. The checkers reminds me of Van tshirt styles.
