We are having trouble figuring out what this typeface is.

It's on the tip of our tougues! Not quite Albertus, not quite Friz Quadrata

I think you were "more right" with Fritz Quadrata Bold. Your supplied sample has been photocopied and reproduced too small and degraded over time and copying. I'd go with Fritz.
