hi i'm looking to ID this font from 1998-ish. it was used on fuel's debut CD "sunburn". i know i've seen it before but can't ID it. sorry for the low quality image references.

Impossible to identify from these low resolution, poor quality scans - but you could try looking at Helvetica Ultra Compressed. There are many variants by different font companies in the Helvetica world, but I recon you'll find something pretty close.
