mut
Looking for some help identifying this font I found used for this old samco Logotype Much Thanks in advance! Link to comment
Riccardo Sartori
Lacking a better sample, it’s hard to tell how much the embroidery affects the weight and shape of the letters. Therefore, it could be a custom logo or a typeface embedded in the embroidery machine itself. In any case, it seems to belong to (or be inspired by) the News/Trade/Franklin Gothic general family. Tomthumb
The typeface looks abit like Dada Grotesk, but like Riccardo says the embroidery looks to have effected it. 2 Link to comment
Riccardo Sartori
@Tomthumb is right in pointing to revivals of Aurora Grotesk: other than the |a|, they also have the slightly squared |c|o|. But is hard to find such a closed |s| (unless, as the weight distribution may suggest, it’s from a different typeface). See, for example, the fairly recent Slavia: download at MyFonts That said, without a better sample or more details (age, provenance, etc.) it’s hard to find better suggestions. 1 Link to comment
