Hey everyone,

i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what font is used for the title card in the film Carrie.

Its the attached lowercase font.

Thanks!

It looks at first like Palatino Bold Italic by Hermann Zapf, but for the 'r' and dot over the 'i'.

Carrie came out in 1978.

Palatino in 1949.

I suggest the movie studio customised Palatino.

Or Hermann Zapf was commissioned to do a custom job for the studio.

Zapf would not have made the i-dot that way. Also he would never make an italic that wide and surely not by mechanically expanding Palatino italic.

The i dot has been driving me crazy. I’ve found a few fonts that are comparable but for the rounded/flourished r’s and the i dot.

Thanks so so much for the help!
