Can anyone help me to recognize this 'SPALDING' font?

It’s a logo. It can’t be set with a font like that.

None of these look especially alike, but they do share some of the peculiar serifs placement of the logo:

I actually figured this out! it looks really similar to clarendon with the serifs adjusted.
