As an engineer, I understand how complex the machinery for this is. On-the-fly typecasting... What a marvel! Thank you for sharing this, @Ralf Herrmann! Sure helps you appreciate what they used to go through to get ink on paper from these matrices when all we have to do now is transmit a few electrons and out comes a perfectly printed page.
