Complimentary san-serif to use with Interstate

Hello Typophiles!

Can anyone out there recommend a complimentary san-serif that will work as copy text alongside headings(Interstate). Suitable for print & web.

Interstate is also the typeface used in the logotype(related to this project) however I'm having some legibility issues with the typeface used as copy at small sizes (10pt)

I love interstate however think it loses it's character at small sizes

Thanking you in advance.

You're going to have readability issues with any sans (for long text).

Where do you see the difficulties in 10pt? Print of web? Interstate isn’t all too bad in print, e.g. the normal light should work alright. http://www.fontbureau.com/media/pdf/Interstate.pdf

Combining two sans serif typefaces is always difficult. Could look a little itchy if you paired Interstate with a humanist sans, but maybe Frutiger works, try it. Those are supposed to be the the most readable. If you need a typeface which works well on the web, too, try Benton Sans. There is a special version called Benton Sans RE especially designed for small sizes.

The most readable sans is Legato, but it doesn't go with Interstate.
Unless you could replace Interstate...
