Hi,
I'm doing a project in Typography class about the tyepface Ibis, by Cyrus Highsmith of Font Bureau. I was wondering if anybody knew where it is or has been used? I haven't had much luck finding this.

Thanks for your help

at the risk of sounding obvious, have you contacted Font Bureau? They have a pretty extensive gallery on their site, and might have a database of fonts in use to help you.

Good idea, I did just that and found that it was used on the FORTUNE magazine logotype. I'll email Font Bureau now and let you guys know how it turns out. In the mean time if anybody knows a usage off the top of their head I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks again!

Correction: It was used as the basis of the current Fortune logotype. As explained in this blog post, Highsmith modified his Ibis starting point a fair bit. So, that’s not a pure example.

Highsmith has written a short book on type fundamentals, due out this summer, the text of which we set in Ibis Text, but that probably won’t help you in time for your class project.

I don't know if you only need big/highly visible projects, but FWIW I've recently used Ibis Text as the secondary typeface in the branding of a little actuarial consulting outfit here in Switzerland (photo), together with Breuer Text – one of my favorite new-found pairings.

Awesome! Thanks everyone for the input, this has been incredibly helpful

IMAO, Ibis looks so hot on these cards, @nina, that were you to show this image about, FB would fersure find themselves swamped with orders for it.
