Unique, or are there others?

I can think of a bunch of cities named after typefaces, that in turn have sports teams (Alemannia Aachen, that sort of thing), but I suspect that's cheating.

So I'm digging through lists, and the one I've found so far is a team from Macau named after Stephenson Blake's Windsor: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windsor_Arch_Ka_I

Ah, here's another one: FC Swift.

I can never remember: were the Cleveland Browns named after Shinntype's font? or was it Lineto's?

Dynamo (Kiev/Houston).
Galaxy (no Polaris).
And in the collective noun category: Jazz.

I mean, is it really fair to say those teams were named after fonts? Those words are associated with other things besides fonts. Now, if we could find one named Helvetica...

There should be some Georgia out there.

One day I will buy the Dallas Mavericks and rebrand them as Andron Majuscles.
Sounds more manly and sportive anyway.

Think of all the punning opportunities for sports commentators.
That would be fontastic.

There is a scripty blackletter named Bayern out there, so I guess that covers B. Leverkusen and B. München. Anyone's up to naming a face Eintracht to give Frankfurt some coverage?

Uhm, I think it is the other way around. They typefaces are named after the cities.

There are at least three different faces named Maverick, so the Dallas team has a choice.

Helvetica is named for Switzerland. (Sacramento was almost named New Helvetia.)
