I am saddened by the death of Ed Benguiat in spite of some comments he made to me many, many years ago. He and I were at a Monotype conference in the mid eighties. We exchanged a few words but when I said that I created type on a Macintosh, he was scathing both of the technology and of those using it. Amateurs, such as myself at the time, were ruining the art of type design and taking food out of the mouth of professionals, such as himself.
