Looking for the font on the keycaps on this keyboard (Honeywell Micro Switch 1970s and beyond) or help recreating it

Used by the Honeywell Micro Switch division on their keyboards from ~1970 onwards

I'm not very hopeful that an exact match is out there so I would also appreciate any advice on recreating it; the free software I tried was really horrible

It’s almost certainly lettering, not a font. 

We listed some fonts in that style here:
