Many independent type designers use it as an external e-commerce solution. But the problem is that it doesn't have a font tester, where users could test fonts as on any other font store. We have started a feature request on Gumroad's NOLT page (where they host all their feature requests). It's a second to upvote with just one click, no account is needed: https://gumroad.nolt.io/864 We entered the top 5 after just a few days (among hundreds of opened requests), and it's speeding up. Please consider supporting this campaign and spreading the news since it will empower our profession and creators all around the world.
