I think that while the voting element was flawed, the highlighting of new releases each month was a good idea and would be of value to forum members and casual visitors to the site. I often see reddit posts from type users asking where they can track down new font releases. Whoever was responsible for choosing those fonts on this forum would always select a nice spread of new releases. Perhaps the page could continue without the competitive element?
