Hello,

I am after a font (hopefully free) that should resemble an adult handwriting of an old male (so quite "old style" and not too fancy). The main feature I need is that the person used to do the lower "d" as a greek delta while writing in Italian (Latin alphabet).

So far I found the fonts " Jim Nightshade" that is too far from the real style and "French Script MT" which is the most similar, but I want to see if there is anything better.

At the moment, I do not have easy access to written text to paste here as an example. I am trying to source it.

Also I do not have skills and time to creating a new font so that route is not really viable for me.

Any suggestion is welcome. FYI: I tried a few AI-based assistants to find a good font, but i did not have any success.

The Identifont site has a Tools section where you can search by certain characteristics of individual letters. Perhaps something on this list would work for you.

Finding a free font with the “d as delta” trait is tough since it’s very specific. You might try Dancing Script or Great Vibes (free on Google Fonts) as alternatives to French Script MT. If you want the exact delta-style “d,” the easiest fix is to tweak just that character with a font generation tool like Calligraphr.
