A recent discussion reminded me that at one time I think I had Zapf Chancery installed on my home desktop computer. I'm not certain, because my current home desktop computer doesn't have it. I like it and I would very much like to have it again but, as a senior citizen living on a limited income, I can't afford to purchase commercial fonts at this late stage of my life. Plus, I have several computers (all old or older, but still functional), and the license is per computer, so if I buy it and want all computers to have it, I'll be buying a pocketful of licenses.

Does anyone know of a free font that's a good clone of Zapf Chancery? For now, I have one called TeX Gyre Chorus. It's not bad, but I wonder if there's anything closer to the original out there.

All my computers are Windows, by the way, so I don't think Apple fonts are available to me.

The closest you can get is URW Chancery L Medium Italic, upon which TeX Gyre Chorus is based. It’s URW’s version of ITC Zapf Chancery Medium Italic, that was part of the extended set of fonts included with the LaserWriter.

Thanks for the link, but those fonts aren't in TrueType or OpenType format so they're of no use to me.

I didn't assume anything. I posted a screen shot of what I see when I go to the link provided. Perhaps that means something to you, but it means nothing to me.
