I found that the icon of some Chinese fonts shows three Chiness characters, the icon of some Chinese fonts shows two Chinese characters, and the icon of some Chinese fonts just show Abg.

Is there a flag inside the font that control this?

Where do these icons appear? Which app or operating system?

Windows operating system. Shows inside a folder.

Not a single flag as far as I know. It’s more about how the fonts internally identify their supported codepages/Unicode ranges. Windows tries to determine the best preview based on that.
