Member Dan…
This topic was imported from the Typophile platform Did anyone notice that FontExplorer is no longer free? Linotype? What the heck? From $0 to $79? That means there is no longer a decent free font manager for OS X, Font Book be damned. Link to comment

Member mso…
given the cost for FontExplorer relative to Suitcase Fusion and FontAgent, can I have advice on which tool is the best buy? Link to comment
Member Dan…
If they are charging $79 now, that dramatically tips the scales. I'm going to have to re-evaluate the options. Link to comment
Member Jen…
There's also Fontcase. It seems nice, but I haven't really tried it in depth yet. It's not free, but a bit cheaper than $79. Link to comment
Member jki…
Yup, that FEX pricing structure was announced at Macworld this year. Dan, if you get a chance, check out the newest version of Suitcase Fusion 2. We've got a free 30 day demo up on our site. I think that you'll be pleased. http://www.extensis.com/suitcasefusion Jim Kidwell Extensishttp://twitter.com/extensis Link to comment
Member Dan…
Does Fusion still lock up all of your fonts into that database thing? I hated that last time I tried the demo. I like having a directory structure that I can work with manually if I so choose. Link to comment
Member thr…
Hi Dan, I think you can opt not to use the font vault thing. Link to comment
Member jki…
Yup, Josef is correct, you can choose whether to have all of your fonts stored in the Vault, or add them in-place from your disk. You can choose this option from the Preferences: Suitcase Fusion 2 > Preferences. Jim Link to comment
