Franklin Gothic’s Alternatives

Recommendable typefaces as alternatives to Franklin Gothic—designed by Morris Fuller Benton. The typefaces presented here can be seen as belonging to the same classification category as Franklin Gothic (“grotesque sans serif”), but each have their own look, aren’t overused (yet) and are chosen because of their overall quality.

So from your list, we can add the following ones:

  • LF Spiegel (1997) by Lucas de Groot
  • Gedau Gothic (2011) by Kai Oetzbach and Natascha Dell
  • Adobe Source Sans (2012) by Paul D. Hunt
  • Adelle Sans (2012) by José Scaglione and Veronika Burian
  • Trivia Gothic (2013) by František Štorm
  • Stereotesque (2014) by Sascha Timplan
  • Urban Grotesk (2014) by Tomás Brousil
  • GT America (2016) by Noël Leu

Thank you for your selection.
