Fontspring has been sold

Creative Market Labs, Inc., running Creative Market, purchased the Fontspring assets on 2022-01-28. Creative Market itself was bought by Dribbble (Dribbble Holdings Ltd.), which itself belongs to Tiny Capital.

Interesting. I wonder what kind of synergies they’re aiming for.

Seems more a stab at Adobe Fonts/Behance than at Monotype.

Some have said Creative Market just wanted to increase their library, which could be true but I don't agree with that. I see it as nothing more than that a very good company wanted to be acquired and they deemed it a good fit. Just normal progress in the business world.

Personally I don't care for Creative Market (too cluttered) and am glad FontSpring will be operating as usual, at least for now. They indicated there isn't currently any interface planned with Creative Market, which is a good thing. I hope it remains that way.

Things could have been worse; it could have been Monotype as the buyer.
