Is there a Mac application to view fonts without installing them?

Featured Replies

Is there a Mac application to view fonts without installing them? I have a lot of fonts that I manage using Font Book. Is there a way to view fonts I already have without loading them into Font Book? Ideally I'd like to see what the font looks like using certain words in all caps and initial caps.

Thanks!

In macOS, just hitting the space bar after selecting a font file, will open a (resizable) window with the same standard specimen you get in Font Book.

Here’s an example:

For custom words, I think you will need a separate font manager, or type tester.
