dbc Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 I am having a hard time identifying the font for the title 'CHICAGO CUBS WRIGLEY FIELD' on the attached program from 1950. It was also used in the 1949 program. Subsequent programs switched over to a non-variable width font, so . These covers were done by Dorothy & Otis Shepard. At first glance, it would seem too easy to identify, but many hours have since passed in my search online. Am looking to create a similar poster. Commercial or online fonts are fine. Open to alternates. Thank you in advance.
Kevin Thompson Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 Sorry, not finding a match. Given the era, it is quite likely that the type is hand lettered, not typeset. Timonium Black, if you artificially condense it, has a very similar vibe, as does Radiant Display Condensed No. 3. 1
