Welcome on my site Typography.Guru! It went online in February 2015 and is an international online community around the fields of typography, lettering and calligraphy. Typography.Guru is a place to discuss, learn and connect—and it is a place to share your own content and knowledge. Almost all sections of the site are open for user submissions.
Typography.guru is modeled after my German site Typografie.info which exists since 2001 and is currently the most-visited German typography website. So while Typography.Guru is a rather new site, it actually starts out with 14 years of experience in running such an online community. Just as with Typografie.info I am determined to maintain this site properly around the clock and over many years—regarding its content, the community moderation and the technical administration. Since its launch, the site has been growing steadily. We now server over 600,000 page views per month.
So feel free to become a member of our community or learn more about the main sections of our site below.
An open forum for all questions around everything connected to the design and use of letters. You don’t need to be an expert to join. You don’t need to give us your real name. Everyone and all questions are welcome! Yet, many experts from the field of typography have already registered on Typography.Guru, so there is always a good chance you will get a qualified answer to your questions.
Forums are helpful to quickly solve problems and share knowledge. But the most interesting content is often hard to find among thousands of forum posts. That’s why Typography.Guru has a dedicated knowledge base section to collect and display content from our field in the best way possible. Articles, a directory (with categories such as museums & libraries, websites, apps, books …), videos, interviews, a glossary, lists, quotes and more are waiting to be explored and you can add your own content to all these sections as well!
This section features the best links from the field and they are sent out once a week via email. This section is also community-driven. Feel free to suggest a link to your content to be included in the newsletter.
