brainiac Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Please help me identify the curled serif font used for the Spanish title of this wall calendar that reads: "Ntra. Sra. DEL PERPETUO SOCORRO" The calendar is sold at this website: https://balmeslibreria.com/libro/perpetuo-socorro-calendario-pared-2020/ • looking for a digital version. Commercial fonts are fine. • thank you for your time and effort.
brainiac Posted October 30, 2020 Author Posted October 30, 2020 FWIW, I have subsequently discovered "SOCORRO" means "help," not sorrow. My apologies for the incorrect translation.
Kevin Thompson Posted October 30, 2020 Posted October 30, 2020 I’ve been searching, but no luck on a match yet. It doesn’t appear to be a widely available commercial typeface. Which led me to search for liturgical fonts, and I came a bit closer—Lasance Initials (history here). I’ve also seen this style described as missal initials (the broader style is Lombardic). 1 1
Gecko Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 On dafonts you'll find a free typeface called "Dublin" by Vladimir Nikolic which looks about 90% close to this one your searching for: https://www.dafont.com/dublin.font Not identical, but the closest that I can see.
