Johnny McMasters Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Attached is the font the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) has used for their initial convention on the freedoms of the air in Chicago 1944. Anybody any idea what font this night be? It is close to some Art Deco-fonts but not close enough unfortunately... Thanx in advance J.
Solution Kevin Thompson Posted March 19, 2021 Solution Posted March 19, 2021 I am sure it had a different name when released in metal (no luck tracking that down yet), but it seems to match the digital typeface Grafiko.
Johnny McMasters Posted March 19, 2021 Author Posted March 19, 2021 Bäääm! 😀 Grafiko it is... Thank you so much
Kevin Thompson Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Grafiko appears to be a revival of a metal typeface known as Edina in the United Kingdom (page 278 of the Miller & Richard Foundry specimen catalog from 1921). 1
Johnny McMasters Posted March 20, 2021 Author Posted March 20, 2021 Thank you very much for updating me, Edina seems to be even a tiny little bit more accurate than Grafiko itself... 🙏🏼
