Does anyone know the name of the font in this Sunset Sound Studio logo?

This is a recording studio on Sunset Blvd in L.A. I've tried using automated font identifiers but the fonts they suggest aren't very similar to this font.

Since the text in the logo is somewhat uneven, I'm guessing the text may have been edited some to give that sort of jumbled/crowded look. That could explain why the font identifiers couldn't identify it. 

Ideally it would be a free font but if not I would still like to know what font it is. Thank you for any feedback.
