mjbiffi
Hello, I'm trying to figure out the typeface used in this old German (?) book. It looks like some sort of variant of Times / Times New Roman, but I can't find the right match. A detail that is throwing me off are the descenders that are shorter than usual and the spacing that is slightly uneven (but that could be easily just a setting). The closest I could find is Times Seven, but it's way thicker than the one I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for your help, cheers! Link to comment
Ralf Herrmann
What’s the book title? Given the time, it’s probably phototypesetting, so differences to computer fonts could also be caused by the typesetting technology. The typeface identification could still be correct. Link to comment
mjbiffi
Hi Ralf, thank you for your feedback! The book title should be "wien - sammlung ludwig", see image attached. I didn't include it because it featured another font and I wanted to avoid confusion. Link to comment
Kevin Thompson
Perhaps Times BQ, Berthold's version of Times? Here's a discussion of Times vs Times New Roman. 1 Link to comment
Solution Kevin Thompson Posted Wednesday at 09:16 PM Solution Share Posted Wednesday at 09:16 PM Berthold was acquired by Monotype, so naturally that version is no longer available digitally (except for pirated downloads). Here's a visual: 1 Link to comment
