Badabababa
Ok, I did my homework before posting l and I have not find that anything close. Can someone help me finding this font? I can’t quiet find correct ‘S’ what I have… I will lose my sleep over it if I use this font. Lol These were what internet suggested for vintage fender typeface. Kevin Thompson
Sorry, not finding a match. Are the images you posted from a debut model of the guitar, circa 1966? If so, there is the distinct possibility that the type was hand lettered, not typeset. It wasn’t uncommon in that era for display type to be hand rendered, especially given those “speed” or “wind” line embellishments. But I think “motion” effects were added on to the existing font. It looks like condensed form of some font. My search continues.. NOASARCK font has very close S, but I am wondering if I can find THE font jay Link to comment
Kevin Thompson
Jay, you’re going to be searching in vain (see this article). The best you can hope for is a digital typeface that comes close, that you would then have to modify to match. Similar, again, but this time with the embellishment: Fopi Rush Link to comment
Ralf Herrmann
What do you want to do with the font, if it were one? If you just want to replicate “MUSTANG BASS”, a type designer can easily redraw that from a good undistorted picture. Link to comment
Kevin Thompson
Ralf, you can buy decals of the graphic from many sites on the Internet (ranging from sites specializing in guitar restoration to Etsy shops). Link to comment
