There are no free versions of Weiß-Antiqua (there are inexpensive ones, though), we agree, but for a “free alternative” (Rules and FAQ wording), one could consider other text typefaces with similar characteristics.

While I’m not aware of any top-heavy design (see the |S|), or with such peculiar |?|, there are common styles with, for example, a crossed |W| and relatively wide |H|. Look no further than the versions of Garamond already bundled with almost any computer.

Others that could fit the bill are, in no particular order: EB Garamond, Cormorant, Crimson, and perhaps Sorts Mill Goudy.
